Gilbert Wermeling

Mr. W lives in Savannah, GA where he is a conductor and administrator for the Savannah Children's Choir. He is a staff singer with the Christ Church Episcopal choirs. Before working at Heartwood Mr. W taught with the Boston Children's Chorus in-school choral music education program and taught music lessons for Camp Sewataro in Sudbury, MA. He served as the Interim Director of Choral Studies and Visiting Lecturer in Music at Amherst College in 2023. Mr. W holds B.A. degrees in Music and Biology (he likes plants) from Amherst College and received his Masters of Music and Graduate Certificate in Music Theory Pedagogy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Mr. W likes to read books and play board games and video games. He likes to practice playing the Chuka Chuks, instruments for making music while juggling!
