Andre’a Brodie, affectionately known as Brodie by peers and friends, is proud to serve as the founding Academic Dean of Instruction for K-2 at Heartwood Community School
Brodie is a native of Georgia, having grown up in the metro Atlanta area. Mr. Brodie earned his Bachelor's of Arts in Criminal Justice from The Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, GA. He also attended Mercer University and obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching and his teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education. Dean Brodie is certified in both General Education (K-5) and Special Education (K-12) and will be pursuing an add on in Educational Leadership. Mr. Brodie is entering his 1st year at Heartwood Community School, and it is his eighth year in the education field with extensive work in both public school and charter school settings. Dean Brodie has had the distinct pleasure of serving as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager, lead ELA and Math and Science teacher, Instructional Coach, and most recently Assistant Principal at KIPP Soul Primary School in Atlanta, GA.
Brodie has always had a passion for children and a love for reading and education which he hopes to bring to our loving community. Dean Brodie enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and watching Marvel movies. Mr. Brodie is so honored and excited to be a part of the Heartwood Community School family this year!
